Drafter/CAD Operator

 

Cornhusker Energy Lexington is seeking a Drafting/CAD Operator at its corporate headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska, for its ongoing expansion efforts.

 

The individual must have expertise in the following areas:

 

Piping Layouts;

Electrical Drawings

MCC Layouts

Power Distribution Systems

Cable Tray Drawings

Mechanical drawings

 

Duties include schematic (P&IDs and PFDs) and mechanical diagrams, developing layouts for control panels and enclosures, structuring of Bills of Materials and working with engineering and production personnel.  Production of Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and maintenance of existing drawings and drawing files is included.

 

Qualifications include an Associates degree in mechanical, electrical or electronics engineering technology.  A strong background of industry experience and CAD skills will be considered instead of a degree. Must be proficient in reading blue prints and working with AutoCAD.

HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR

Operate heavy equipment.

a)     Operate gasoline or diesel equipment, graders, loaders, bulldozers, aerial trucks,   bobcats and backhoes in a safe and efficient manner.

b)      Perform routine checks on vehicles and equipment prior to use.

c)       Perform minor routine equipment maintenance as assigned.

d)      Perform emergency repairs on vehicles and equipment, if necessary.

 

Perform related duties.

a)     Maintain a safe work area by setting up appropriate barricades, warning

      devices, and proper vehicle and equipment placement.

b)     Supervise work crew personnel as assigned.

c)      Maintain records of work performed, as required.

d)     Perform tasks using hand tools, as required.

 

Experience and Education

Combination of education and/or experience which demonstrates

proficiency in the operation of heavy equipment in excess of five (5) tons --

such as sweepers, graders, flushers, loaders, bulldozers, log trucks, aerial

trucks, and backhoes.

 

 License Requirements

            Possession of a valid Nebraska Class A Commercial Driver’s License.

 

Knowledge Requirements

            Knowledge of applicable safety laws and regulations.

            Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, practices, and policies that

            pertain to traffic controls and devices in fixed and moving work sites.

 

Skill Requirements

            Skill in the use of materials, equipment, procedures, and practices

            employed in construction.

 

Abilities

            Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with

            subordinates and supervisors.

 

            Ability to interpret manuals, catalogues, and shop drawings related to the

            position.

 

            Ability to use hand and power tools and machines.

 

            Ability to operate a motor vehicle in a safe and courteous manner.

           

            Ability to accept personal responsibility for one’s decisions.

 

            Ability to operate assigned equipment for long intervals in all kinds of

            weather, if necessary.

 

            Ability to use good judgment and work independently under limited

            Ability to work assigned shifts, nights and weekends.

            Ability to occasionally lift and carry with assistance equipment and materials     weighing up to 100 pounds, such as snow plow blades, truck chains, and bags of   cement.

 

CONTROL SYSTEMS ENGINEER

 

Essential Job Duties:

  • All development, design and programming activities for control systems and database interaction.

 

  • Maintain accurate documentation of engineering assignments encompassing planning and coordination of project tasks, implement cost effective and practical designs and maintaining accurate accounting of jobs progress.

 

  • Perform various project engineering activities; prepare estimates, logic drawings, calculations and EBOM's.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • A strong working knowledge of Allen Bradley Ladder Logic and PLCs, Emerson Process and Delta V PLC operations, RS3, Siemens Profibus DP, PA, and PSC 7 programming logic.

 

  • Must be capable of managing multiple projects and 5+ years design experience of automated control systems.

 

  • Must demonstrate abilities for timely completion of engineering projects and assignments including project integration and control, start-up activities and time line to budgeted levels.

 


Education/Experience:

  • BSEE or Bachelors degree in Computer Science.

 

  • Experienced Controls Engineer with a strong background in industrial automated machinery systems.

 

  • CHEMICAL ENGINEER -

    Cornhusker Energy Lexington, LLC is a leading producer and marketer of denatured ethanol produced from the fermentation and distillation of biofeedstocks. The Company is expanding production capacity to meet the needs for the fuel additives industry creating a position in our Omaha, Nebraska corporate office’s engineering and development team for a Chemical Engineer.

     

    Candidate will complete in-house engineering design and manage work performed by outside contractors for all phases of projects. Responsibilities include scope development, budget estimates, schedules and timelines, preparing capital expenditure authorizations, equipment specifications, bidding and selection of equipment and contractors, design and drawing preparation, purchasing of equipment, and supervision of construction / union contractors. Candidate must have experience managing similar size projects ($50MM to $100MM) and possesses familiarity with related drawing, permitting, and regulatory requirements.

     

    The qualified candidate will provide technical support on capital projects and plant operations.  Candidate will perform detailed evaluation of bio-refinery systems, recommend and implement product solutions, identify innovative new or modified product opportunities, document energy, process, and product improvement savings with project cost justifications. This position may require involvement in professional organizations and development and implementation of industry standards. 

     

    Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering (or similar degree with 15 + years of industry experience), strong analytical and communication skills (both written and verbal) and a minimum 5 years experience in the chemical or fuels refining industry.  A strong knowledge of process instrumentation and applications, chemical plant or fuels refining experience preferred. Some experience in material handling systems/conveyors and cross functional engineering is highly desired.

    Candidate would complete in-house engineering design and manage work performed by outside contractors for all phases of projects. Responsibilities include: scope development, budget control, schedules and timelines, equipment of service specification, internal capital expenditure authorizations, bidding and selection of equipment and contractors, design and drawing preparation, purchasing of equipment, and supervision of construction/union contractors. Candidate should have experience managing $50MM to $300MM projects, and also be familiar with related drawing, permitting, and regulatory requirements.

     

    The qualified candidate will provide technical support on capital projects and plant operations. Candidate will perform detailed evaluation of bio-refinery systems, recommend and implement product solutions, identify innovative new or modified product opportunities, document energy, process, and product improvement savings with project cost justifications. This position will require involvement in professional organizations and development and implementation of industry standards.

     

    Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (or similar technical degree with 15+ years industry experience). Strong analytical and communication skills (both written and verbal) and a minimum 8 years experience in plant construction.
